Now

Inspired by the now movement

What running in my head and what I’m currently working on now. Feel free to ping me if you are also spending time on them!

Rapid product iteration and engineering

How much time does it take to go from idea to deploy?

Why does it take the time it takes, and how can we make it better? I’ve been mulling over it for quite a while. I think we have over engineered a lot of things in the tech industry and have a lot of work to do in terms of going back to the basics.

I’ve been learning django and building close knit as an experiment in this direction.

Helping NGOs

With my simple and preliminary understanding, I think tech can enable change makers in more profound ways. I think there is a lot to do here. Figuring out how to go about helping NGOs achieve their potential.

Learning public policy

Public policy has always been one of the subjects I want to spend time on. Seems like takshasila is a great starting point. Am reading and learning about public policy now a days.

Self hosting

The fact that we as a community have normalised and surrendered to big corps having all our memories and data is jarring in a way.

I’m exploring if data and compute sovereignty can be achieved while being commercially and resilience viable.

Hosting a server at home now and learning about self hosting.

Tinkering with hardware

I have a long standing desire to make a hardware version of life counter which can be used as piece of furniture. Recently in FossIndia, ran into absurdity central folks and after seeing their work. The desire to start tinkering came back.

I’m exploring how I can make a device from scratch using 3D printing.
